# VSkin > VSkin is a CS2 (Counter-Strike 2) skin showcase platform. Players display their full Steam inventory on a public page, including trade-locked skins that Steam hides from other viewers, find traders, and compare offers, without ever sharing a Steam Web API key. - Inventory sync uses a Chrome extension with the player's own Steam sign-in; VSkin never asks for a Steam Web API key (a known scam vector) and never requests trade permissions. - Any player's public CS2 inventory opens as a showcase at https://vskin.gg/showcase/ (their 17-digit SteamID64), with no VSkin account needed. A Friends-Only or Private Steam inventory stays closed there too. - Trade-locked items appear on a VSkin showcase even while Steam hides them from other users, but only when that player has claimed their own showcase and synced it with the VSkin extension; a showcase opened from just a SteamID cannot show someone else's trade-locked items. - Supported weapons, knives and gloves can be inspected in an interactive 3D skin viewer that renders in the browser at the item's real float value and paint seed, with its real stickers and charms, without opening CS2 or downloading anything. This works even for trade-locked skins a viewer does not own, which cannot be inspected in-game. Every skin is checked in VSkin's own render studio before it goes live. - VSkin is a catalog and discovery tool: trades happen directly between players on Steam; VSkin never touches items, wallets, or trades. - VSkin is an independent project, not affiliated with Valve or Steam. ## Guides - [How to Show Your Trade-Locked CS2 Skins](https://vskin.gg/guides/show-trade-locked-skins): Trade-locked CS2 skins are hidden from everyone but you.
